Students will learn the fundamentals of creating graphical applications for the X environment using the Motif user interface toolkit.

Course Objectives
- Students will create a basic Motif application.
- Students will use the Resource Manager to manage interface preferences.
- Students will develop Motif applications that use various Widgets.
- Students will write Motif applications that have menus and display dialog boxes.
- Students will write Motif applications that respond to events and user input.
- Students will write Motif applications that display graphics.
- Students will write Motif applications that display text.
- Students will write Motif code that supports interclient communication.
- Students will write Motif code to create their own Widgets.
- Students will write a Motif application that uses what they have learned in this course.
Syllabus
Prerequisites
Students should be familiar with C and developing applications in a Unix environment.
Requirements
Students will need to work in Linux with a C compiler.
